
The new calendar year begins with Joy Grayczyk of Main Street Church being honored as the Cardinal Stritch High School January Student of the Month.
Joy maintains a 3.82 grade point average in our rigorous college preparatory curriculum. This program includes courses such as AP American History, AP English and AP Biology. Her accomplishments, both in and out of school, have rewarded this outstanding scholar with a National Honor Society membership. Joy was elected to serve as our Executive Board President this year.
This excellent student has supplemented her study of Spanish by joining the Spanish Club. She has also been a member of the Spiritual Life Club each year of high school. Along with this, she is a Kairos Leader and has been a Youth Leader. Through her church, this caring individual has been on mission trips to Mexico, Philadelphia, Kentucky and West Virginia.
This is the second year Joy has served as a Writing Lab tutor. Joy has also been a member of our Marching Band, Pep Band and Concert Band all four years of high school. She has been recognized as a Most Outstanding Band Member. During her sophomore year, she joined the Locks for Love Club and the Juggling Club. Last year she volunteered on the Prom Committee. And, this fall she was elected to the Homecoming Court.
Joy has rounded out her high school experiences by being the captain of the Stritch swim team for three years. She has been on our soccer team for three years while continuing to participate in winter and spring soccer programs. And, she has been a member of our cross country team.
Joy, the daughter of Shari Grayczyk and Joseph Grayczyk, anticipates attending the University of Toledo where she will major in Business Entrepreneurship.
