About
COAT OF ARMS

The Cardinal Stritch High School coat of arms contains the ideas bound up in the history of the school. On top of the shield, a mighty cardinal is perched. The cardinal, a small bird always ready and fearless in fight, is the school's emblem. The tower of Toledo, Spain, in the upper left hand section of the shield, represents the Diocese of Toledo, to which the school belongs.

In the upper right hand section is Bishop Rehring's cross, signifying that the school was erected during his episcopate. Three red crosses, symbolizing the stigmata of St. Francis for the Sylvania Franciscans who originally filled the greater part of Stritch’s teaching staff, occupy the lower right hand section. The wavy line on the lower left side stands for the Maumee River.

The red lion rampant in the center is Cardinal Stritch's insignia, the words inscribed along the bottom in Latin are a part of Samuel Cardinal Stritch's motto translated, "God is my helper."
